Technology:

Our staff keeps up to date on the latest diagnostic and imaging technology for the most accurate picture of your eyes. Some of the new devices we use here are:

  • SmartMirror shows what you look like in up to four pair of eyeglass frames at one time.
  • Keratron Scout is a corneal topography machine used in contact lens fitting and refractive surgery care.
  • OCT (Optical Coherence Tomography) is a brand new "ultrasound" device that uses reflected light to measure thickness of the eyeball to 7 microns (a human hair is about 150 microns in thickness). We use this in the diagnosis and treatment of glaucoma, macular edema, and other vision problems. We were only the third practice in the state to acquire this device.
  • Visual Field Instrument is the latest technology that helps us detect neurological and glaucoma disorders.
  • Pachymeter measures the thickness of the cornea. It is used in the detection of glaucoma and in surgical pre- and post-care.
